My name is Annamaria Kovacs, the owner of Luna Massage Therapy.


I've been working as a massage therapist since 2017, covering Henley and the surrounding areas. I also have my own studio in Henley town centre. I am fully qualified and insured to provide you with a professional service of great value.

Therapy Background:


I started my training with MTI, Holistic Massage Therapy in Henley at 2015. This course was followed by level 3 & 4 Sports Massage with VTCT in 2017 & 2018. I continued to develop my techniques through ongoing training and got qualified in indian head massage in 2019. My desire to learn and improve only got stronger and eventually I became a thai yoga massage therapist in 2020.

What is massage?


There are several types of massages that focus on different parts of the body or healing approaches. Massage is the practice of rubbing and kneading the body using the hands. During a massage , a therapist will apply gentle or strong pressure to the muscle and joints of the body to ease pain and tension.

Relaxation massage is a gentle type of full-body massage that is ideal for people who :

Sport massage is a good option if you have repetitive use injury to a muscle , such as what you may get from playing a sport. It is also a good option if you are prone to injuries because it can be used to help prevent sport injuries.

You may also use sport massage to increase flexibility and performance. Additionally, sport massage can be used to relieve pain, anxiety and muscle tension.

A sports massage can be done as a full-body massage or the massage therapist may focus on the parts of the body that needs the most attention. Sports massage improves your athletic performance and reduces the risk of injury with a combination of deep tissue massage, stretching, and compression techniques. Deep Tissue Massage helps people with chronic pain to relieve tension by affecting the deeper muscles in the body.

Thai massage is the best for people who want a more active form of massage and want to reduce and relieve pain and stress.

Thai massage works the entire body using a sequence of movements that are similar to yogic stretching. The therapist will use their palms and fingers to apply firm pressure to your body. You will also be stretched and twisted into various positions. Thai massage is traditional healing system combining acupressure, Indian Ayurvedic principles, and assisted yoga postures.

What we need is a quiet room or space , a massage bed or chair then I provide a good service of back, neck , shoulder massage to help to releive any stress and tension.

Indian head massage has been used in Asia for over 5000 years and works specifically on the area surrounding the head, scalp, face, neck, shoulders and upper back. Indian head massage comes from Ayurveda, and ancient method involving natural therapies, which takes into account mind, body and spirit.

An Indian head massage usually lasts for approximately 30-45 minutes, although the treatment can be shortened to 15-20 minutes if it takes place in the workplace.

Bamboo Massage is an effective non - surgical alternative to body shaping and cellulite removal. This non-surgical treatment provides optimal stimulation, stretching and pressure to subcutaneous tissues that can not be easily achieved with conventional massage techniques. Bamboo Massage is done by giving a manual pressure to certain points to release liquids in the cellulite - forming fat cells. In the bamboo massage techniques lymphatic drainage massage is performed to drain the fat cell fluids and reduce overal water retention which improves lymphatic circulation.



The treatment also helps stimulate skin tissue and increases blood circulation at the subcutaneous level. This massage level is deeper than traditional massage techniques applies by a person and works by gently massaging the tissues. So that fat cells fluids can be released from the lymphatic system. Thanks to the increased metabolism of circulatory and lymphatic systemso the body throws out fat and toxins. It is very important to drink of water for this reason after this period of time.

What is Thai Foot Massage?


Thai foot massage works on similar principles as reflexology. Covering the feet and lower leg. It involves hands on massage, stretching techniques opening the " Sen " energy lines along with the use of a traditional thai stick.
